It's ending soon!

Yeah it's ending soon, for 2010 and my like as an NSPI. In less than a month, we are going to step into 2011 and say goodbye to 2010. Personally, I felt that 2010 is been a fantastic year for me because I have seriously learn a lot. In the beginning of the year, I have attended a course called Outward Bound Singapore (OBS), which is held at Pulau Ubin. This course is to strengthen our leaderships skills through tough times we were being given.

A few months after the trip to OBS, we finally pass out as a NSPI (National Service Probationary Inspector), well still in probation until we have cleared our Operation Ready Date (ORD) Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) and shooting during December. Well I have cleared IPPT and now I have left with shooting, which is a good start for me.

I was posted to Ministry of Home Affairs, and start working as an NSPI and no longer a trainee in Home Team. Well time flies, 6 months have passed and 2010 is ending soon, which means I left 6 more months to ORD! But before that, I have a lot of things to get ready because I am going to National University of Singapore (NUS) after I ORD, thus I need to prepare myself especially my English Language, because that's my worse subject in my entire school life.

Lately, I was interested in taking SAT,because I felt that SAT is a way to brush up my English and also to give me a rough idea on how my standards were comparing with people in US or maybe all around the world. That's the first thing that I am going to do next year and also I will be redesigning my website to a better layout because I felt that this current design is not cool enough, I guess LOL.

Next thing I would do is to start my revision on programming, computer and such. That's because I can clearly say that I almost forgot every single thing that I have learned in the past. I hope the revision can really make me recall everything that I have learned, if not I would have a hard time in university.

Next thing to do is to create my first Facebook application or other application which draws my interest. I want to test my skills in programming, so making an application can really measure where I stand.

Last but not least, which is an option to complete it but I hope I have time for that, which is to get my driving license. Hope I can pass my Final Theory Test.... God Bless :)

Well that's quite a number of things to do for the next 6 months but hope I can clear all of them before I ORD!

Wish me Luck!

Trip to Jakarta

2 days after my POP, 8 of us, Steven, John, Tyler, Sam, man, khai, Farhan and me when for a 4 days 3 night trip to Jakarta. It was a exciting trip for me because it's my first time being to Jakarta and I do not know what to expect over there, except that I am a Millionaire LOL. (Since the exchange rate for Singapore to Rupiah is 1:6579 and I change a total of SGD$350 which makes me a millionaire overnight :)).

Over there the culture is different, especially food/fast food. Heard from Steven, he says that people in Indonesia like to eat rice so every meal bound to have rice on the table. Same goes for fast food, unlike menu in Singapore, they serve rice meal in KFC, A&W and so on. Also the thing there are quite cheap, especially their local meals, it like 2 to 3 SGD to settle a normal meal.

Other than food, the clothes there are also quite cheap, we can even find shirt which cost less than 5 dollars in a shopping mall, and the shopping mall is much much bigger than suntec city and vivo city! Now you can imagine how big is the shopping mall and the structure is also very grand but who knows, they sell cheap stuff too! (For certain shops only LOL, the rest are about the same as Singapore)

On the second night I went for clubbing, it's my first time that I went to clubbing, and I did not know what to expect. First before we went in, we have to pay entrance fees of 100K rupiah which is round SGD$15. The music is very loud until I can feel my heartbeat bouncing. At first I did not use to it but as times goes by, I started moving along and dance with the beat. Then we order alcohol which cost around 200K per person. Well Also this is my first time drinking alcohol, and it doesn't taste good I can still remember how it taste like.

After drinking, we went up to the dance floor at second floor. Off course we start to dance. It was definitely fun dancing with your friends. But we often drift apart because people might go through between us and dance so naturally I dance together with some strangers. Well we dance for like 3 hours LOL first time I have dance for so long.

Overall the trip to Jakarta was definitely FUN!!!! I have experience a lot of things and also thanks to Steven sister and her boyfriend/husband I don't know cause did not ask, for bringing us around Jakarta as our tour guide!

Hope OCT can organize more of this overseas event again!

WOOT Best in academic

WOHOOOO I got best in academic aka professional studies in my squad. I was happy when my course manager told me this news although I did not attain the sword of merit/honor due to my performance in OPs training was well enough, but this award of best in academics truly make my day and make it worthwhile in my OCT life. Also each of us were given a sword, except that out sword did not engrave with our names compared to those sword winner which are the sword of merit/honor.

I received a certificate and a plague during our farewell party which organize by our junior. It was quite fun as our spirit were high due to the fact that we are going to pass out soon. I also receive a letter from my junior buddy, Samuel. Thanks for the letter and as a event IC, you have done well for your very first event, good job. Also good job to the other juniors who had put up a interesting performance for us. Thanks!

Well look forward to monday and I hope that it will be a great weather for my passing out parade :)

Reaching the end soon!!!!

YESSSS!!!!! reaching soon!!!! 2 more weeks left before I complete my OCT course. From more than 30 weeks we have endured, and now finally we are going to reached the end of our course. Thinking back, life in OCT is quite fun actually, we laugh together, joke together, polish boots together, get punishment together, everything we suffer and happy together that's what make us so united.

This week is quite a memorable week for me as I clear my IPPT, finish the final exam, took my first gate pass and also having the title of best bunk in my squad:) Nothing beats this week I guess because all the good things happen, compare to what I have suffered for the past 5 weeks.

But nevertheless, everything's over I really thank my instructor coaching me so well without him I might not be able to achieve what I have got today.

Thanks FI Shiekh :) and all my squad mate who support me along the way on my weakest station of IPPT, which is SBJ. Thanks to all!

Last but not least...

Third Taiwan drama - Miss No Good
miss no good Pictures, Images and Photos

Plot

Xiao Hua (Rainie Yang) is a bubbly Taiwanese girl with her own unique sense of style. Xiao Hua has no intentions of changing the way she looks and dresses until the return of her elementary school classmate, Jia Si Le (Dean Fujioka), convinces her otherwise. Jia Si Le is deeply in love with Xiao Hua, despite coming back to Taiwan for an arranged marriage with Jiang Mi (Chen Yan Yi). Jia Si Le then does whatever he can to get Xiao Hua to be his girlfriend.
One day, when her motorcycle breaks down, Xiao Hua meets Tang Men (Wilber Pan), the famous, poison-tongued stylist who happens to be Jia Si Le's best friend. The two share a taxi, only to argue over each other's sense of style, and Tang Men angrily storms out, unwittingly leaving an expensive pair of scissors behind.

Later, Jia Si Le holds an elementary school reunion party and invites both Tang Men and Xiao Hua. Tang Men meets Jiang Mi, who tells him that she and Si Le gave each other one year to find their true loves before submitting to his parents' will and marrying. After being pushed into a swimming pool and being told by her former classmates that she has no sense of style, Xiao Hua decides she will change her image so as not to embarrass Si Le.

The next day, when Tang Men's assistant comes to Xiao Hua's shop to look for the lost pair of scissors, Xiao Hua decides to use them to blackmail Tang Men and get him to teach her how to be an upper-class woman. As Tang Men and Xiao Hua spend more time together, they slowly begin to realize their feelings for one another, though they initially deny them. Meanwhile, Jiang Mi, who is dating Tang Men, asks him to get close to Xiao Hua so that she can get Si Le back. Tang Men, who finds Xiao Hua annoying and loud, suddenly sees Xiao Hua's inner beauty and falls in love with Xiao Hua without even realizing it.

However, things take a turn when Jia Si Le finds out that Tang Men is in love with Xiao Hua....

Leaderships

Terrible stomach ache that I have for today. I do not know why but that's just life, what can I do about it. Force to be stuck at home today when I should be meeting my friends and enjoy my weekends. But never mind at least I can rest well at home and prepare for my next week IPPT which is quite crucial moment for me.

Ok lets not talk about that, let start with the topic that I going to talk about, which is leadership. In my course, they always highlight the importance of leadership. But I felt that leadership is something that you cannot measure because the meaning of leadership in everyone's heart can be different, at the end of the day, what the person show is how the person felt about leadership.

Many people always have that in mind that leadership is that having the capability to accomplish the task as a team. Well I do agree with that but that's not all about leadership, because if that's the mark to measure leadership then I guess everyone can do it easily. Then why should we have courses that teach us how to become leaders?

For my point of view, as leaders, not only to lead the team to success, but also gain respect from them and care for them during the process. Get them to contribute to each and everything that is possible so that everyone will feel that they are belong to the team and will do their best and help out their leader. Bonding on each team is also necessary because with the bond created, not only the team can move on as one, but also even after the task, they will still respect you as a leader even though the team had been dismissed.

The character of the leader also plays a part, leaders cannot be hot tempered and cannot be panicked when something goes wrong because when leaders show that, this will make their team feel insecure and thus there bound to be doubt in the team and thus the team will not make progress.

On the end of the day being a leader, you should not look on the 1 sided view because if the leader do that, he will miss out a lot of opportunity to gain even more than the actual result. My quote for this is "Leaders should not shut opportunity but to gain opportunity"

Words

Sometimes words can be quite meaningful if you know how to sort it out. How is it meaningful? Some people might questioned. It can be meaningful by gathering all sorts of words to make a story, a script or even quotes.

Today what I am going to share is the quote that I have come up with, which is the word that we use "Easy" and "Difficult" seems simple yet they can mean a lot. Like for example what I have seen for these 2 words is that the first alphabet that they carry "D" which means difficult and "E" which means easy. alphabet "D" comes before "E" which says that in life you have bound to meet difficulties like hard work needed, staying overnight to work in order to earn enough money or make yourself successful. After the difficulties in life, you will meet Easy, which means after those hard work, you will bound to see success which will lead you an easy life later on.

But on the other hand, if people who lead easy life first will bound to meet difficult life later, that's because they never work hard for anything that they want to achieve in life, rather they always depend on other which will cause them downfall on the later part of their life, which is the word "Difficult" will come in after easy.

So my quote will be "People will always face difficulty in life, but after difficulty, easy life will be next for you"

Outward bound SG

16 days of OBS can be tiring but it can also be quite fun where you can get together with your "new" group of people that you never work with. I attended the 16 days OBS course and went through 3 expeditions, which is sailing, tracking and kayaking expeditions. Out of these 3, the most toughest part I must say is kayaking. That's because kayaking not only use our physical strength, but also our mental strength. If either of those attribute are missing, we might not be able to reach our destination. Because we are not only fighting against waves and winds but also the illness that we have during kayaking, for example seasick.

We did it! I am proud to say that we are the best! That's because we reached our destination way before the expected time.

I think this course was quite good in the sense that not only they push our physical and mental limit and also they trying to show to use that we can go further or beyond our own limit.

As a physically weak person like me able to survive the wave of the sea, I think everyone else can do it too, just that have you limit yourself too much to the extend that you have given up before even trying it?

Dare yourself and go for OBS 16 days course to find your own true limit and your leadership skills

2010 Lunar New Year!

I got a 5 day off which is great because I can get more rest from my training :) But it comes with side effect of getting lazy and getting fat again lol. That's because all I do doing CNY is eat, play and sleep hahahaha. Good luck for my IPPT which is next week, GG.

Well every year CNY is almost the same where I go to my relatives house for a visit and my relative come to my house to see my grandma. Well... that's what CNY is all about, getting together and have a chit chat session and also getting red packet from the elder.

The first day of 2010 CNY falls on the same day as valentine day, although some people might have double celebration but that does not apply to me since I have no girlfriend yet but hope will find 1 soon :)

2 more weeks to OBS, looking forward for it to end, because when OBS ends, which means that my training is going to end soon and my junior are coming soon!!!!!

POP LO in May :) and wish everyone a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!

confusion and choices...

Recently just thinking about what am I going to do after I ORD. Although is a bit too fast since I have yet to POP from my course but seriously, it's been a long time that I didn't touch any programming or maths stuff and my interest in that is slowly fading away without me noticing. Until yesterday when I chat with my friends about this then I found out that "did I really want to go computing in NUS? Or should I chose other course which is new and much more interesting?".

The reason why I asked myself this question is because I do not want to study just for the sake of studying. Although many people would say is good to further studies, but to me, I just want to enjoy what I am doing. Well probably is because of NS that make me have doubts in my choice of studies but really I have to carefully consider about it right now if not is too late for me to re choose my direction of my life, since I am 21 years old now and I do not want to waste any time of my life.

But other than computing, what else can I choose?????

2010

Its the year 2010! Which means my attachment is over! Junior term is over soon after this coming week! That's fast. This also means that I left with 1 year and 6 months of NS before I ORD lo. Last year got a lot of surprises, first is graduating with a diploma with merit, then coming next is 2nd place in Imagine Cup, then enlist to BMT then finally posted to OCT in police.

Hope this year is a smooth year, then hope can get GF lor if nt wait till next year lol.... Then last but not least is to get sliver for my IPPT, also wished everyone healthy. Get IPPT sliver is my primary goal, as for GF is secondary because I really want to get a sliver ever since BMT, 4 more centimeter to get a sliver for SBJ.

But well another 5 more months to go another 5 more months of training, hope can get a sliver by then lol.

Hope this week social night would be a great one..... :)
