Buzzer Beat a Japanese Drama by Yamashita Tomohisa, one of my favorite japanese actor. Quite a nice and good show... Should watch :)

Synopsis

Kamiya Naoki is a young player from a professional basketball team. But due to his relatively smaller size and his tendency to crack under pressure, he is unable to show his true skills on the court. Meanwhile, Shirakawa Riko is a cheerful, strong-spirited music college graduate aiming to become a professional violinist. One day, Riko finds Naoki's lost cell phone on a bus, and their meeting begins a friendship that eventually turns into love. However, Naoki was already considering marriage with his current girlfriend. And it doesn't help matters that Naoki's coach has fallen in love at first sight with Riko!

Lately I have been listening to 許紹洋 - Ambrose Hsu song. I do not know why a sudden change of taste but his song is quite nice and smooth especially 幸福的瞬间 and 身边. These 2 songs are now on my favorite list now. 幸福的瞬间 is from a show, Lavender, a Taiwan show and 身边 is from a show, Dolphin bay. Ambrose Hsu is acting for both of the show and it's quite nice too suggest to watch it if you got time.

The past memory, the feel, the experience

People may not treasure things that they have now, but when it is gone, it might be gone forever. Just like school, when I saw my friends who are in express stream getting their 'O' level certificate and graduating from secondary school, I was very anxious and wanted to graduate and move on to next level of my education. But once I got my 'O' level cert, my feeling started to change. Things like what I always do everyday, my lifestyle had totally change. Doing project with my friends, rush to canteen for food, all these are going to be memory and we are not going to do it anymore.

When I get to poly, my anxious feeling of graduating starts again, I was hoping to finish my course ASAP and get the cert and get out of this place. Although I have friends in school, but still that feeling of finishing the course ASAP, still stays. Not say I am not enjoying my course but I am a person who wants to do things quick and fast thus I did not really make full use of my time well in school.

During NS, last day in camp, I was still very happy about POP. But now thinking back, rather than counting down the days during training, I should really treasure them. POP liao, all my bunk mate all got into their vocation, spread out liao not more 22-b liao.

Think now I will really need to treasure my NS life as much as possible, rather than counting down, I rather enjoy it :) and now i have lost count of how many weeks I have been in OCT

Months after NS

It's been a few months where I enlisted to NS. Until now I really enjoy the experience in NS. It's great place to meet new friends and learn new things that I never learn before. I was posted to OCT which was totally unexpected. Because I thought base on my physical, I will not get into such a good posting. I was happy but worried that I couldn't pass out from this course.

But nevertheless I will still try my best to train hard and work hard to earn this title and since is just once in our life. So I will use this time to train real hard.

For me, nothing is impossible, if I try my best and get to the goal, so can anyone. Even though I am weak, but still I will try my best to overcome every obstacle that I encounter.

There's still long way for my ORD but still have to endure it and LLST to do everything that's needed.

Reaching the goal is one thing, but the process of learning is what we gain the most and what we will remembered the most. Because once you reached your goal, you will tend to remember the process of the training that you had gone through. So I hope that I will make my training process a memorable one :)

Synopsis

I just watched this show today. I find that the concept of this show is good but not the storyline. I like the concept that in the near future, our game is not like what we have played today, where the character inside the game is not real. In their game, the character they used to play are real people. If the person in the game die, they really die! This concept is quite fresh to me and seems good at first but the storyline totally destroy the image that I had for this movie.

Some part of the show is totally unnecessary for this show, they should focus on the people who fought hard for their life. I understand that they want to show how this kind of technology can affect the future life, but it's totally useless and not nice at all! The ending was even crap, really crap. I hate the ending, I thought the main character might need to do some high risk mission in order to kill Ken Castle. But in the end, he just stab him with a dagger and that's end of the show...

Overall I rate this movie 6/10...

Slacking....

These few days really slack a lot sia.... I feel my body getting weaker and weaker LOL.

Lack of vigorous training, lack of motivation, lack of everything except time.

Muscle all becoming shaggy liao.

Feels that all the training have all turned into waste...

Training!

Finally! I finally start to train my physical after BMT life in Tekong :) I will start my training this week in order to keep myself fit as a man. Today I run for around 20+min, really with no pacer my pace is very horrible, sometime fast, sometime slow. If saw pretty girl then run fast if not then no motivation then will slow down.

But I really sweat a lot today and I felt great after this run :)

Oh ya I have slightly change the layout of my website and blog :) Cya!

Comex and Swensens

After my POP, my very first event is to go to Comex, a PC show, with my poly friends. Just when there to look around and see see how's the technology growing. But off course go there see girls (hehehehehe). Then we when to Aston for lunch, the black pepper fish is great along with 2 side dishes with cost me $7.20. I think is worth it to go and try it, because the fish is so tender and soft that when you put it into your mouth, it's like instantly dissolve.

Then the following day, which is today, we went to eat Swensens buffet at Ion Orchard. The outlet was quite big but a bit difficult to find if you go there very early. If you go for the buffet, please do not consume too many cakes, if not you will be very full. 1 to 2 slice of cake should be enough, then after that go for their ice creams first before going for the second round.

But after all those 2 event are quite fun and interesting, but due to the tiredness and flu that I got this morning, it does affect the mood of the event, for me I guess lol. still have 1 more week to know my posting :)

Trip to Hong Kong Cancel

Sad to say that our section trip to Honk Kong, I am not going, because many people back out the very last minute. Which is why I also cancel my trip.

Sad sia..... haiz....

Didn't get to go Hong Kong before sia.

But hope next time got time to go for this kind of overseas trip with my friends :)

Going to POP LO

Going to POP at this coming Wednesday (09/09/2009). Finally for 3 months, I have finally endure this tough period. Even though I say is tough, but sometimes it makes me feel that if NS is like that for 2 years would also not a bad idea LOL.

Going to miss all my bunk mates where we used to sleep together in a bunk and now, we are going to separate ways.

Well hope I have a good posting if not really GG LOL.

We Got Married

"We Got Married " is a Korea variety show, which shows 4 pair of celebrity couple, fake one off course, living together just like a newlywed. Just started watching today and I find it quite funny and interesting where each celebrity couple living together and pretend to be the real couple.

Some couple didn't go well with each other but some did it as if they are real couple.

Very full!

Today went to a japanese buffet restaurant with my bunk mates. Although it's quite expensive but it's worth it because we ate a lot. Now I know that soldiers will get more benefits in this kin of buffet event because the food outside is more delicious and more yummy!

We ate around $300+ which make us damm full. If got ice cream would be best la, but too bad dont have.

I forgot what's the restaurant name, but if you want to go you have to reserve a seat first because it is usually full if you want to go there for dinner.

This is our sec first outing which is quite fun, but not all of them attend but it's still fun :)

I did it!

It's been dont know how many years that I haven been able to pass my napfa test an now I have did it! I pass my napfa yahooo! I have successfully overcome sbj (standing board jump) and i hit 218cm!

something wrong with my website!

Something wrong with my website!!!! I can't access to the ftp server with my own password and username. I don't know where the problem lies, but if I can't enter the ftp of my website, I can't change or update any single thing!

I am now currently finding another free web hosting server which able to host all my files in it.

So if anyone of you have any good recommendation of any free webhosting , please tell me by sending me an email @ JAMESYKL1988@hotmail.com or write it on the tag box or comment it on this post.

Today I just started playing Evony which my cousin intro me.It's a web base game which is a combination of red alert and rune scape. the navigation are user friendly and it's quite easy to play with. I played on a new server, server 50 where many newbies are all around me so if anyone playing on server 50 come join alliance so that we can create our own new empire to conquer server 50!

BTW my flag name is JYKL and my state is at BAVARIA. Rmb if you saw my city do not attack me since I will not be around for this week. Hope anyone who see this post join this game so that Evony will become famous and more people playing it! Then it would be even fun!

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince

Waited for 2 years!!! Finally Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is out on 16 July which is on Thursday. The storyline is good but very little fighting scene compared to order of phoenix. Do not expect too many fighting scene in this movie because this part of Harry Potter movie is to reveal Voldermolt past and the ways to kill him. That's why you will be expecting lot's of chit chat in this movie.

I really anticipated in the next movie because the real fight will be held in the last movie called the Deadly Hollows. Hope it will come out next year....

Imagine cup result and Transformer

My team PlanetKY has won the 2nd place in Imagine Cup Mashup category, was quite surprise and very very happy with the results because out of the 6 finalist, we are the only team which is not university but just a polytechnic student. This victory is not a easy victory, we spend large amount of time and spirit to complete this application (VENews) for this competition. This is my very first time competing in this kind of competition and be able to get second place for my first try, which is not a bad start. I think I can look forward more on this kind of competition in my University life. My team mate Wen Bin, had fought greatly in the final presentation which earn us the second place in this competition. Also thanks to NYP lecturers, manager and director, they gave us great help in this competition. Thank You very much! Although I missed the final part of the interesting and exciting competition due to NS, but I still happy that I was able to compete and learn new stuff from this competition.

Today, I went to watch Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. It was interesting and exciting. Although the first part was a bit confusing because I can't differentiate who is the bad guy or good guy because they have put in alot of new robots in this movie compared to the previous. The last part of the scene was in Egypt, a place where I nearly go but missed it lol. Quite interesting movie a must watch movie, even though it had been out for 2 weeks, there are still quite a lot of people watching it. MUST WATCH MUST WATCH IF YOU HAVENT WATCH!

Next week I shall watch Harry Potter, 2 years of waiting, finally it's going to be out on 16 July! Shall update next week See Ya!

WCG

Today ec, roger, wx and I went to Suntec for game show, that's what I thought at first. But when I reached there, it turned out to be WCG event at Suntec city!. WOW!!! The 3 main event that held there are Dota, FIFA and the last one I couldn't remeber lol. But it was really exciting when I saw those competitor from all around asia plays. It was definitely a once in a life time experience for them.

Nevertheless, there is also a cosplay performance which is about shakugan no shana. Not my favourite type of anime but I got watch a a few episode of it. Other than that, there are some other people cosplaying other characters from other anime like prince of tennis, Naruto, Hitman reborn, and many more.

After that we went to Carls Junior and have our lunch plus dinner. It was definitely a very tasteful meal compare to some other meal (you know what I mean). I long time didn't ate Carls Junior around 1 year plus.

In today event, WCG really is a good event for all gamer around the world, I do really hope that more of this event will come up more often to let pro gamer to have their strength shine!

Swine Flu

Recently there is an increasing number of cases of swine flu in Singapore. From around 10+ to over 2oo-300 plus cases of Swine flu now in Singapore, which is quite shocking to hear that as an individual. But I have confident in Singapore Swine flu prevention system because we have experience in handling this kind of disease which is SARS happens in around 2003. Although we cannot really control the situation but what we Singaporean can do is to play our part by taking temperature 3 times a day, to ensure that you are not fever. This is the best that we the Singaporean can do. But this does not only apply to Singaporean, other people from around the world can have this habit to play a part as a citizen for your own country. If not, we might be the one who might get this disease and pass it onto your kin.

Swine flu can be prevent or minimize if we play our part.

Last but not least, I am back again!

Moving forward

Tomorrow I will be going to another level of my life, which is not student life, but an army life which I look forward to since 2 to 3 months ago. Some people may say National Service is a waste of time, because by spending 2 years in NS, their peers could have succeed them in studies or working. Well it's not wrong to think like that, but if you change your point of view of serving National Service, by not just looking at is as it's a waste of your time or perhaps youth, you might want to think of it as a break if student who want to pursue their polytechnic/university /ITE education. Because we have been studying non-stop for more than 10 years in our life, we do not have a break in between to let us really think what we really want to do. So taking this 2 years to have a break and think through what you REALLY want to do for your future would be a better choice rather than go for the prospective of the job. Because if you have no interest in the things that you do, you will not succeed.

Other then that, in army, we can pick up some skills that we might not able to get or learn it in school, like for example leadership skills, which is one of the important aspect that we need to have in we want to succeed in life like creating your company to become an entrepreneur. Not only that, we can also expand our human network and to work and stay with different kinds of people from different education and family background. Through this we can learn more about them and know what they want or we can learn from them as different people have different point of view, with just using our own view to measure things, we might lose out a lot or misunderstand the objective.

Well for me NS is a good time to take a break, because if I were to continue studying, I could have lose my concentration if focusing my subject as my brain is really wipe out by programming code in polytechnic. I will be using this 2 years to learn more new technology stuff that I have never been taught before in my schools so that I can improve myself and able to create new stuff, new technology which could be my first application to becoming an entrepreneur like James Sun, who is a internet company CEO of ZooDango.com.

So guys who are going to NS, take it as a break in NS and 2 years in NS will be over where you don't even notice it.

Latest version of VENews

PlanetKY has come up with the latest version of VENews, which is better than the previous version off course. Not only we show the environment issue, we also show environmental solution and environmental events. So that user who use our VENews can not only know what's the environmental problem but also know what are the solutions that other countries has taken. With environmental event, user who are interested in giving a hand to help out our environment can check out the latest event happening and see whether is there any event which are near their living area.

Base on the comments given by my friends and other users, we had include a loading bar, to indicate that the VENews is loading after the user had choosen the environment category at the top right hand corner of the VENews application.

Next function we had is selecting the region that you want to view. This is a optional field though unless you want to specifically view on certain region of the world.

Street Fighter IV!

Today morning went to make passport to go to Egypt (if can) and also prepare it for NS. Today went too early and not many people, then after finish making my passport, I decide to went to Plaza Singapura to catch a movie, but the timing is too late that if I watch it, I will be late for school (to do my Imagine Cup project). So I decided to go Arcade and play street fighter, since its only 50 cent. I went in to the arcade and there are only those staff in the store, then I start playing street fighter alone....

But after my third match with computer, people start to challenge me. I used Ken to win them with 1 button AGAIN! I always kick them and that's the best technique that I can use since I am quite new to this game, in terms of experience. But I lost twice to another Ken and Akuma (WTF!). But I win 7 and lose 2 with 2 tokens with just using 1 button. I saw my opponent also shocked when he tell his friend who VS with me, that I only use 1 button. Everytime I win, someone sure challenge me, like wanting to see me lose, but in the end I did lose and was quite happy with the result since I spend $2 and able to last for 1 hour + which is quite worth lol.

Then went to school and start planning PlanetKY work. The planning process is quite long but we did come out with a very wonderful idea, which is a secret cannot say until our product is done :P

Haiz I most likely cannot defer liao but hope can take 6 days leave and go to Egypt instead since it's quite rush for deferment as it onli left less than a week to my enlistment date.

Well see how it goes..... Cya ! And congratulate to those who called up for IDA interview, good luck guys you guys can do it!

OWNAGE!

WOOT today I own wx in Blaze blue with 1 button! Yahoo! We went to illuma and played a game called Blaze blue, which is a fighting game where 1 character fights with another character in the screen and the user, who is you, control the joystick and button to control the character and that's called blaze blue which I own WX! WOOT!

Then after that we went to eat our lunch/dinner at the asian kitchen or asian.... I forgot the name. I won't go there eat again! Cause is just simple fried rice and it cost $7.. WOW That's too expensive for person like me with no job. But still the taste is okok only. But if you are interested you can go try because they also sells noodles and side dish. I have not tried before but if it's good, must tell me thanks :)

Then after that we went to Mcdonald to eat ice cream then talk awhile then go home.

The best thing for today is I OWN WX. Thank You :)

Popfly Imagine Cup 2009 Finalist!

Firstly, I want to thank all the people who supported PlanetKY in joining our facebook group and test out our mashup application, VENews.

PlanetKY has emerged as 1 of the 6 teams to take part in the finals in Egypt! The other 5 teams are from Brazil, Sri Lanka, Poland, US and Philippines. Now we are down to 6 teams, it would be a very very tough fight from now on. Is either we win or we lose, simple as that. But no matter what the result are, we are very happy to be able to represent Singapore to take part in this competition.

There are 3 other teams who were be representing Singapore in Embedded category, photography and software design. and out of this 4 teams, 2 team were from NYP(Nanyang Polytechnic)! Isn't that cool!

I really hope that I can go to Egypt and take part in this competition. I also hope that all of you will keep supporting our mashup application by giving us feedback and introduce more of your friends to use our mashup application @ http://www.mit-nyp.net/planetky

Graduation Day + Chalet

Finally no longer a NYP student. I have graduated on 29 May 2009 with diploma with Merit in Multimedia and Info-communication technology. I am glad that all my friends had graduated with me on the same day.

After that, we went for class chalet. Kim boyfriend brought xBox360 and everyone play guitar hero. It's quite fun but it's too fun that there is very few outdoor activities lol. But at least we got kick soccer and play monkey for less than an hour.

It's fun and tiring because I didn't get to sleep for the second night because of xBox360, playing outrun. It's quite fun.

Sad to say we did are unable to view the sun rise scene at East Coast park. Really too bad. But we did take does some picture of the clouds which look like some creatures lol. It's quite amazing.

Took bus 135 and 966 and went back home with ec. But I heard that wx and roger took wrong bus and need to go vivo and take MRT back home lol.

And YES! my personal website finally able to access it liao. SHIOK SIA. But the imagine cup result kena push back 1 day zzz

Si Ling Primary School Dayz

Today evening went down to train my pull up and saw my primary school, Si Ling Primary School, the old building. It really bring back my memory, my childhood memory where I get scolded by my teacher, play digimon and pokemon with my friend, catching, badminton, volleyball, basketball and many more. Well its definitely more good memory then bad because at that time I only want to play and see good things. But the best thing is still my friends, they are the best at that time lol. I still remember they always come to my house and watch pokemon and play playstation. Then one of my friend always go my house drink milo, which is my favourite drink. LOL. From primary 1 to primary 6, the longest time where i study at, 6 years of wondeful memory are all in that building.

I still remember that I always scold by teacher for getting poor result. Always fail, failing is just like scoring an A for elite student. My parents always get called up by the school regarding my test, homework etc etc. But luckily I still manage to pass my PSLE and go to NA(Normal Academic) stream.

Also got 1 incident that is unforgettable, which is the building caught fire before when we are at hall. I don't really know what or who cause the fire, but I was really happy because English lesson has canceled! YAHOO! I remember all my classmate were cheering and hope the fire get bigger so that more lesson will cancel. :)

I still remember one of my classmate always pinch me, cause I always call her channel 5. But I also don't know why I call her that. Hmm really can't recall, but nvm, she is my best friend, later on, we changed to different class. Then no more contact because she is busy with her study as she was in EM1 and I was in EM2. Then I also busy playing pokemon and digimon and don' really contact/talk to each other liao, something like this.


Now the building is quite old and deserted as current Si Ling has been moved to other place. But the old building is just below my house but no one used it.

But I really hope that the building can renovate or reconstruct to a new school or place.

I created this game from popfly. I used a template to do this though. But to make it more fun and frustrating, I have put more targets in it. My best timing is 499 second. Can you beat me?

KOREA, TAIWAN, JAPAN F4

I have watch all 3 different type of F4 from 3 different country. Taiwan version of F4 is the first F4 that I have watch. It was about 6 - 7 years ago? That's a pretty long time, at that time it was still fresh as Taiwan is the first country to come out with F4 Drama. Now Korea F4 is out in Singapore! It was way better than the Taiwan F4, it really show the F4 are really damm rich! The house, the school and the place that they went to, are pretty cool and nice!

As for Japan, I don't really like it. That's because the actor don't really fit the role. Watch the first season already make me don't feel like watching anymore. So I ranked them like this: Korea F4, Taiwan F4 and Japan F4. No offense to Japan F4 fans, but that's just my personal preference.

The funny thing is that, in Korea F4 1 only can remember one of the F4 member name, who is the leader, Gu Jun Pyo. The rest I could not remember lol. No in face I only know the name of Gu Jun Pyo in the entire Korea F4 drama series. LOL

At least the ending for Korea F4 is quite good where Gu Jun Pyo at least learn how to become a successful business man and return back to Korea and look for Korea "San Cai". Which is different from Taiwan version.

So will there be any F4 coming out somewhere? LOL

NUS/NTU makan time!

Wow, yesterday is really a makan day for me, where roger, ec, jiew meng, yuen sheng, me and the others when for NUS/NTU talk about computing and computer science/engineering. It's good to listen to this talks before you choose your desire course but for me hehe, I go there for food! NUS has wide variety of food but the the quality not that good la. NTU organize this event at a hotel, Marina Mandarine Hotel. Although there are fewer choice of food, but the quality of the food is NICE!

I have choosen NUS Computing, not because of the school ranking or the environment. It just that NTU offered me a double degree which I do not think I can handle a double degree well after my NS. Although can learn more things, but i prefer to learn freely and in slow pace, rather than a fast pace where I afraid that the things I learn will get mixed up. So yea, next year I will try NTU again for their computer science course.

But really the food at NTU is damm nice la. LOL REALLY NICE!

In less than a month, I am going to graduate from NYP, Nanyang Polytechnic. I feel happy and sad. The reason why I am happy is not because of getting good result but is because I have learned wide range of useful skills in my course, like programming, designing (even though I still suck at designing) and networking. Also I have made some very good friends in NYP, like Naruto says, I have made some bonds with my friends. I also made some bonds with my secondary school friends, even though I have lost contact for some of them. But I still treat them as my best friends, the valuable bond that I ever made. Same to those friends in NYP. I also very happy to be able to graduate with one of my best friend, Cher Shen, on the same day! WOOT! It's so cool to be able to graduate with one of my secondary school buddy on the same day and same time!


I am sad because as my result gets better, there will be people who results get worser. I know this feeling sucks to core because I was a worse, lousy student before in primary and secondary school. It's just like a pyramid where people who get better/good result steps on those who get lousy/poor result. Also I did not feel that I deserve this kind of result because some of my friends are technically better than me, it just that on their first year, they did not perform well, which cause their GPA to fell greatly and one of my classmate slightly miss the mark of getting Diploma with Merit, and I think he is very very good in networking. Some of my classmates are really damm good in networking and programming and designing. But for me, my programming, networking and designing are still at genin level(lowest level). Wonder I will survive in University with this kind of skills.

So I decided to test out my programming skills in imagine cup competition, which requires C# and javascript programming. After the product is out, I found that I still have a lot to learn. I also learn something during these 3 years in NYP, which is that result does not mean everything, only the strong detemination in learning and achieving the best is what is needed in your heart. Even though I always say "Aiya give up la, it's impossible to do!", but my brain still continue running and searching for solution to solve the problem. I don't know when I develope this kind of weird attitude.

Future for me is still a mist, whether I can survive in university is still a question mark for me. In these 3 years in NYP, the couple of things that bothers me, first is a java programming pratical test in year 2. That's because I was too careless and did not notice that the lecturer had give us hint to finish the program, and I went to create a search function for the program. I remember it almost done but time is up. That was 1 of the things that regret most, and I will do it after 20th May. Another thing that I really regret is that during year 2 internet programming, ASP.net lesson, I was too engross with my own work for submission, that I have neglected my friend, Wei Xiong's work. I did not check clearly on his program, as my mind was all about handing up my stuff to the lecturer. Then the lecturer check his work, there are some error, which did not give him a better grade on this module. I was very very sad and sorry, that's why after that day on, I decide to help people out if they have any trouble. I will place them before me, although I am not a good teacher, but I will give my very best to help anyone who needs help.

Another thing is that, I did not give my very best in world skill competition in NYP, which causes me to lose a great opportunity to learn more great things from other web designer in Singapore or perhaps the whole world. That time I was really lazy, I must admit. That's why I did not give my very best in the competiton itself. I feel bad for those lecturers who give up their free time to teach on on back and front end web skills. Crap, I have miss a great opportunity to learn better skills in web desing/programming.

One last thing that I regret most is to cut off bonds with one of my friend during year 1. He was my very first person who talk to me and exchange phone number with me during NYP orientation. I know during year 1, I was quite competitive person and I always try to do my very best and get good grades. But I was quite frustrate with this friend of mine where he always call and bother us about homework. He even called up during 2am - 3am. So we decided to cut off bonds with him, so that he can find a good company which will help me and get better grades. But I feel damm regret when I was in year 2 semester 2, if I could help him out, I couldn't have lost one best friend of mine...

R.I.P my friend....

Haiz, in NYP I have more sad and regret things compared to happy stuff. I think that's because people will tend to remember negative things over positive things, and that's why people will grow from their mistakes.

In life, do something that won't make you regret, do something which can contribute to/ help others, do something which makes you more happy rather than getting fame or money. And that's what I am going to do and continue to do in the rest of my life with no regrets:)

Waiting

Today, I feel like I have spend most of my time WAITING! In the afternoon,wen bin I have to wait for my lecturer to get the camcorder to do a video about my popfly project. We have wait 3 hours before we start filming our video. 3 hours!!!!! But also no choice because it is quite difficult to get the camcorder today because one of the lecturer was not in school today until 4pm. Our lecturer try very hard and got us a webcam to do our video. And it was a success.

The next thing I want to say is about our public transport, MRT. Due to the train breakdown before reaching YCK(Yio Chu Kang), we have to wait more then 1 Hour.... 1 HOUR and it was a peak period where people were rushing to get home and have their dinner. Then we have no choice but to take bus to yishun and I took another bus back straight home. This is my first time I have experience this kind of thing.

It's totally a WOW, especially those people inside the train when the train brokedown. I can feel how devastated how angry they are(guess some of them will) lol. Well hope next time SMRT people will have some backup plan when this kind of thing happen.

I personally think that it is very true. Why?

First of all, to introduce VENews, the mashup created by us, the PlanetKY.

We name our MashUp system, VENews. Its actual name is Virtual Earth News. Some people might choose to call it “Very Environmental News” since it actually suits our system well also. Its pronunciation is similar to Venus.

VENews is developed to show environmental news such as air pollution, water pollution, earthquakes, acid rain and floods which happened to our motherland, the Earth.

We plot the locations of the environmental news on the Virtual Earth. In this way, everyone would have a clear overview and could know what has happened to our Earth.

To have an overview of it, like for example, where does more of the air pollution news is coming from – we are able to track down the source of pollution and with everyone’s help, we could solve it!

Every environmental problem solved is going to protect our Earth and enhance its life, and also, to improve everyone’s life & health (polluted air would never be healthier than clean air!).

Everyone, let’s support us, the PlanetKY, and our mashup application, the VENews!

Changes in my blog

Hello everyone, as you can notice on the top of this blog, it has a virtual earth map. So wondering whats the use of having a map here right? The Academy, On the first beat and Emergency Unit

The best HK drama that I ever watch are the Academy, On the first beat and E.U(Emergency Unit).

The Academy

The series follows the lives of a group of new Hong Kong Police recruits as they proceed through training at the Hong Kong Police training school (PTS). Within these 27 weeks, each of them learned their lessons, each of them become more mature, each of them become a better person as the relationship between the students and the teachers grows stronger and stronger.

A direct sequel, On the First Beat (學警出更) was produced and broadcast in 2007 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Joey Yung, Sonija Kwok and Michael Tao. Another sequel, E.U. (學警狙擊) was produced and will be released in 2009 continued with Ron Ng and Sammul Chan, alongside Michael Miu, Kathy Chow, Elanne Kong, and Michael Tse. Michael Miu reprises a new role as a triad boss in E.U., which is unrelated to his role in The Academy.

On the first beat

Chung Lap-Man (Ron Ng) and Lee Pak-Kiu (Sammul Chan) patrolling the streets of Hong Kong with fellow senior constables. During one patrolling shift, Pak Kiu messes with the wrong group of gangs, Cheng Chi-Keung (Wai Ka Hung) and Cheung King-Fung (Michael Tao).

After realizing that Pak-Kiu was manipulated by Chi-Keung, Fiona Ma Oi-Lam (Fiona Sit) tries to clear Pak-Kiu's name from the complaint by Chi Keung. Fiona and Lap-Man finds Chi-Keung and King-Fung dealing drugs in a parking lot and tries to photograph their drugs-transaction. Fiona accidentally sets off a car alarm and is discovered by Chi-Keung and King-Fung, holding her hostage. Pak-Kiu tries to rescue Fiona, instead he gets shot in the side of his head by Chi-Keung and subsequently Chi-Keung shoots Fiona in the stomach, consiquently she dies. Pak Kiu then wakes up in the hospital and finds out that Fiona is dead and blames it all on Lap-Man. Throughout the whole series, conflict and extreme hatred for each other is constantly shown between them.

Half a year later, Lap-Man and Pak-Kiu are introduced to their new sergeant, King-Fung. Turns out King Fung was an undercover police officer responsible for the arrest of Chi-Keung earlier. Lap-Man and Pak-Kiu both develop a sense of hatred towards King-Fung. Lap Man gets angry and files a fake complaint letter on King Fung. King Fung's sister, Cheung Nim-Yan (Joey Yung), who is an investigation constable, discover the fake letter prank.

Lap-Man and Pak-Kiu then meets Kuk Ming-Cheung (Chin Ka Lok), who tells him about Pak-Kiu's father, Lee Man-Shing, (Michael Miu). Apparently Pak Kiu's father and King Fung had a bitter past. During this time, Pak Kiu tries to take some psychology classes to try to build up a better resume when he applies for an inspector position within the police department. Yuen Wai-Nei (Sonija Kwok) joins Pak Kiu's classes as she thinks its beneficial to police officers.

Man Ching (Kate Tsui) comes to Hong Kong from the United States in hopes of finding her mother, who turned out to be Lap Man's aunt. Man Ching then develop feelings for Lap-Man, even though she is aware of his girlfriend. Trying to get Man Ching off of his back, Lap Man challenges her to be a police officer at the Police Training School (PTS). Man Ching accepts the challenge. Yuen Ka-Fu (Kenny Kwan), Yuen Wai-Nei's brother, coincidentally just came to Hong Kong from Canada. He was expelled from a Canadian university, and applies to be a police officer. He meets Man Ching in the training.

King-Fung, Ming-Cheung, and a few other sergeants receive a letter that tells them they will be training for the Police Tactical Unit (PTU). During the time at the training camp, Ming-Cheung tries to screw King-Fung over. During the training Pak-Kiu and Lap-Man always get into arguments, their behaviour then noticed by King-Fung, Ming-Cheung. One day Lap-Man tells Ming-Cheung that King-Fung no longer holds a grudge against Man-Shing and that everything is back to normal, Ming-Cheung then becomes all friendly to King-Fung.

At this time, Wai-Nei is still angry over the fact that her ex-husband, King-Fung had "slept" with another woman and that she doesn't forgive him. One day King Fung goes to make this glass vase as it has sentimental value to both him and Wai Nei, he gives it to her and they are back together.

Lap-Man and Nim-Yan slowly starts to get closer and develop feelings for each other. But knowing that Lap Man has a girlfriend, Ho Fa (Tavia Yeung) and Man Ching has a crush on him, Nim Yan backs off. Wai Nei and King Fung's relationship grows and plans to get married. At this time, King Fung encounters Yip Ling-Fung (Selena Li). Ling-Fung runs into some financial problems and King-Fung helps her. On the day of Wai-Nei and King-Fung's wedding, Ling-Fung tries to draw King-Fung's attention by attempting to commit suicide. King-Fung tries to get Ling-Fung to cooperate, but she ignores him, eventually King-Fung has to go with her to the hospital and becomes extremely late for his wedding. As soon as he gets to his wedding, Wai-Nei calls off the wedding and vows that she will no longer be friends or anything with King-Fung. At this time Wai-Nei finds out that she is pregnant with King-Fung's baby.

Wai-Nei soon discovers that Pak-Kiu has developed feelings for her and is willing to be the baby's father...

E.U(Emergency unit)

After ten years behind the bars in Taiwan, Kong Sai-Hao (Michael Miu) finally returns to Hong Kong. Besides hoping to find his daughter Yau-Yau (Elanne Kong) to mend their relationship, he also plans for revenge. On one hand, he pretends to surrender to triad boss To Yik-Tin (Lam Lee), the man who caused him to be jailed. On the other hand, he tries to gain trust from police officers Chung Lap-Man (Ron Ng) and Lee Pak-Kiu (Sammul Chan). Pak-Kiu refuses to have a criminal as his friend, but Lap-Man becomes an undercover police in Sai-Hao's gang. Along with Sai-Hao, they overrule Yik-Tin and take over the mafia, and the two develop a misconcepted mentor-student relationship. Unfortunately, Lap-Man gets fired from the police force before he can finish his mission in the mafia. He becomes Sai-Hao's people and turns his back against the police force....

Yik-Tin keeps a close watch on Sai-Hao but purposely shows that he trusts Laughing (Michael Tse) more and intentionally puts him in a high position, but Sai-Hao uses Yik-Tin's wife Ching Yeuk-Sam (Kathy Chow) in the organization as an influence to help Sai-Hao up the ranks. But when he thought that he was in control, his drug dealing business failed and Sai-Hao discovers that the people he trusted the most betrayed, tricked and used him....

Swine Flu

Recently there's a outbreak of a new disease call Swine Flu, H1N1. So what is Swine Flu?

Definition:

Swine influenza (also called swine flu, hog flu, and pig flu) refers to influenza caused by those strains of influenza virus that usually infect pigs and are called swine influenza virus (SIV).Swine influenza is common in pigs in the midwestern United States (and occasionally in other states), Mexico, Canada, South America, Europe (including the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Italy), Kenya, Mainland China, Taiwan, Japan and other parts of eastern Asia.

Transmission of SIV from pigs to humans is not common. When it results in human influenza, it is called zoonotic swine flu. People who work with pigs, especially people with intense exposures, are at risk of catching swine flu. However, only about fifty such transmissions have been recorded since the mid-20th Century, when identification of influenza subtypes became possible. (Importantly, eating pork does not pose a risk of infection.) Rarely, these strains of swine flu can pass from human to human. In humans, the symptoms of swine flu are similar to those of influenza and of influenza-like illness in general, namely chills, fever, sore throat, muscle pains, severe headache, coughing, weakness and general discomfort.

The 2009 flu outbreak in humans that is widely known as "swine flu" is due to a new strain of influenza A virus subtype H1N1 that was produced by reassortment from one strain of human influenza virus, one strain of avian influenza virus, and two separate strains of SIV. The origin of this new strain is unknown, and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) reports that this strain has not been isolated in pigs. It passes with apparent ease from human to human, an ability attributed to an as-yet unidentified mutation. This 2009 H1N1 strain causes the normal symptoms of influenza, such as fever, coughing and headache.

The Apprentice

During these past 2-3 weeks, I have been watching the apprentice again from season 1 to 7. "You are fired!", is the best thing in the apprentice where every week there will be at least 1 people will get fired. Off course there are some exception where sometimes, 4 people are fired, or even no people are fired because they are united and work well together which is in season 7, the celebrity apprentice.

The best thing of this show is that there are sure to have at least one pretty lady in each season, that's cool isn't it! You can watch and learn some business tips and also see pretty girls. I think the best season out of all these 7 season should be season 6. That's because the treatment is quite different from other season, where the losing team will need to stay outside the mansion and live inside the tent, whereas the winning team, will live inside the big, beautiful and gorgeous mansion.

I like Frankie and James a lot in that season, because Frankie is quite funny but has the potential to make people motivate to work harder and it's nice to be in the same team as him. On the other hand, James is also hardworking, get all the things done properly, and also he is very energetic. But the very sad thing is that, non of them become Donald Trump apprentice.

Season 7 is quite interesting also, because 14 celebrity have gather for the interview process. Omarosa, is one of the very very troublesome people that I do not really like since season 1. In my mind, "Why did she come back for?". Although i support Tracy as the winner but in the end, Pierce Morgan won. But never mind, this season all the money will donated to the charity. So whoever win is also good.

Monopoly Chanmpionship competition in Singapore!

Monopoly Championship in Singapore! What an amazing event where all the people from Singapore gather at plaza Singapura to join the monopoly competition!

The competition starts on 4th of April 2009, Saturday, the beginning of the competition where there are 9 heats in total to select 64 quarter finalist from 1000 over players!!!!

I joined heat zero because there's an early bird prize which is a magic the gathering set consist of a CD-ROM where player can go online and play the card game. Also it has 2 deck, sliver and gold deck, a rare card and a advance booster pack.

Also every participant will receive a monopoly deal card game which cost $11.90.

I got in into the quarter final with the overall property value of 94k+. There are 2 game for quarter finalist, the first game result: Bankrupt, second game result: 42K+.

I did not get into the semi-final, but I receive a 100 dollar Hasbro hamper which consist of a monopoly board game and the game of life board game.

Did not see the final battle with the last 4 player as its too late and I rushed home for dinner after I receive my hamper.

Hope the top player in Singapore will win the competition in Las Vagas. Good luck!

Result Week

This week is a very important week for me as all the academic result of mine will be out this week.

First on Monday is Imagine cup - software category and NUS result

For Imagine cup - software category, our team, failed. We did not make it into the top 16 in Singapore. I think is because this year competition is quite tough, but well is an experience for us. But hope in University I can join imagine cup once again :)

Nus result for course acceptance, Yes I got into computing course in NUS. I am very happy and delighted! I got the result at around 10pm+, when roger told me the result is out! A lot of my friend also get into the same course as I am. Also I hope my friends and classmate who are still waiting for acceptance, good luck!

Tuesday NYP final semester result.

I though that the result will be out at 12am, then i start to wait. When I logged in, it very laggy. That's because too many people tried to enter the NYP portal to see their result. Maybe kaisu like me lol. But it did not update until 7 to 8am in the morning. Off course I did not forgo my sleep just for the result. I sleep from 1am to nearly 8am then quickly on my computer and saw my friend, wx online. I though the result is out, until jm told me. Got an A for my FYP, and a pass for my IAP. First I have to say sorry to my FYP supervisor, because I did not manage to get a distinction for this project even though they guide me well during these 12 weeks. For IAP, I wont forget my supervisor, Ricky and co-supervisor, Kenny also the other staff in the company. Its been a great time working at the company even though I burst a lot of IR LED lol.

Yes got a 4.0 gpa for this sem, even no distinction.

Its a wonderful semester, learn many new things that cannot be learn from school! Cool isn't it!

O ya my Final GPA is....... 3.886! That's my final GPA! YAY At least did not drop lol...... :)

What a Day

Roger is back to blog! I know, I Know my blog has not been updated for quite some time. Well been lazy to update it lol and also not alot to blog about. Quite a lot of stuff happened for the past few weeks/months. But I will not blog about them today.

Today let me blog about my trip to NUS. Basically Me, James and EC decided to go to NUS Open House today and we took the free shuttle bus from Dover to NUS.

We didn't really know why we go there as we had already registered a course in NUS and NTU but we just went there for fun i guess lol.

When we align at NUS we were greeted by the friendly students of NUS and gotten a Goodie Bag each. Then we walked into the Open House area and then after going in we went out shortly after as our stomach were growling. It was already noon and so we decided to go for lunch at Subway in NUS lol.

So we took the free NUS shuttle bus to Subway in NUS itself and while waiting for the bus we saw there is also free Shuttle Bus to West Coast Mall which is one of the new Mal in Bukit Batok and we decided to take the free shuttle bus to West Coast Mall after lunch which is like >.< as we did not really go for the Open House event nor did we attend any talks as we had applied for the course we wanted and attended quite afew NUS talk already.

So after lunch we waited like an idoit for like 30 mins and when the free shuttle bus to west coast mall arrive we did not manage to get up the bus as it did not stop althought I did wave and I think the bus did not meant to stop there at NUS stop >.<

So we took a shuttle bus out to Dover MRT and then took MRT to Dhoby Ghast to play LAN. Then when we arrive at Dhoby Ghast, I remember there is an IT Show at Suntec, so i asked EC and James wheather they want to go and they said ok. So we continue to take a train from Dhoby back to City Hall.

When we arrive at City Hall we walked thought City Link and was totally sianx when we saw the crowd at City Link when we haven even reach Suntec. We knew that we would be stuck in the crowd for sometime and decided to just get out of city link by walking up the stairs into the unknown.

So after climbing up the stairs we relized we were out of City Link and into the street! We were not sure where we are and we just walked by using our instinct hoping to be able to walked to Dhoby Ghast.

After walking for like some distance we relized that we are walking the wrong way. Luckily I installed the google map application on my phone and we used it to navigate our way to Dhoby Ghast which is like a Journey from City Hall to Dhoby Ghast as we walked the long way to Dhoby Ghast and we took about an Hour or so to reach Dhoby Ghast which we could have done in about 30 mins or so if we knew the short-cut. We are like walking the long way round to Dhoby Ghast and we treated ourself as some RPG game characters using our Gadget (Google Map application in handphone) to navigate our way to Dhoby.

During the process of our journey to Dhoby, we walked by 3 Museum, namely The Mint Museum of Toys, Pernakan Museum and The National Museum of Singapore. We even walked till Font Canning Park and the Registration of Marriage place there.

When we arrive at Dhoby its already quite late and we decided to go to The Cathay near Dhoby to play LAN. To our dispointment the LAN shop was full and we did not get to play. So we walked back to Dhoby.

Today really is a day of traveling into the unknown and also with alot of waiting and walking and no objective at all.

Well its indeed a trip I would remember and also this trip lets me know more about SG road and stuff lol. Its a great workup too lol.

Bloody Monday

Currently watching this japan drama, its nice and very exciting because I do not know when the virus will affect the hacker Fujimaru. Also the terrorist, how will they end up to be? Can THIRD-i unit capture the terrorist together with Fujimaru? Or 8 million in Japan will die?

FINALLY OVER!

Yes! Finally my FYP is over! YAHOOOO!!!!

Now only need to wait for final result and get diploma and thats it! Poly life is over! YESSSS!

But now still have to rush report haiz.... lol hope can quickly finish and quickly zhao!

1 more weeks left

Left 1 more week to the end of my FYP, this also means that I am going to graduate soon! This coming week is a very very crucial week for me as it will determine where I can get to university or not. Hope my FYP can get a B or B+. Then like this should be ok liao lol.

After that... then wait for around 2 months then grad from NYP. No longer a student anymore, becoming an NS man for 2 years...

Well hope my application to NUS will be accepted and hope can score well in imagine cup :)

Chinese new year day 1 2009

Finally, Chinese New Year day 1 is over! Collected quite a number of red packet :) Compare 21 years of Chinese New Year that I have celebrated, I think this year is quite a meaningful one because I am going to NS soon. This Chinese New Year will be my last before entering NS (National Service).

But never mind because the Ang Bao that I have collected is quite a lot!!! Then talk with my uncle about continuing studies after NS, he say he will support me and my bro to overseas or local university. Because he do not want us to stop studying due to financial matters, happy is happy but, I still want to use my own effort and money to study in university. Hope in NS I can save up to 6-7 thousand so that I can pay for my first year tution fee in university. Then after that will work as part time to earn money for year 2 tution fees and so on.. But lucky got some savings to use for study purpose if not confirm GG. Since I will be studying in university for 4 years... Then the amount would be around 6 * 4 = 24 thousand dollars. Plus all those food and transport, it will reach around 30 thousand dollars. Hope in NS can get some slack unit and also get reasonable sum of pay :)

Last but not least, hope my project can finish in the remaning 13 days!

SWIMMING

This is the first time, FIRST TIME, that I ever went to NYP swimming pool to swim. Finally yesterday went and swim. Swim only 3 to 4 laps then tired liao. Swimming really did help A LOT in your physical. Because swimming train your entire body. But the worse thing is that I do not have goggle. Then I have to lift up my head and swim, really really troublesome.

But its a GREAT workout after all, since long time didn't swim liao. Those who want to train for NAPFA, but lazy to go gym, swimming is another great option for you!

Good luck for those who trying to aim for a sliver or a gold in NAPFA. GOOD LUCK

P.S : NAPFA is a Physical training test.

NTU

When to NTU yesterday to visit their school and hear their talks. First school that we are heading to is school of computer engineering. The building is very old like secondary/primary school building. That's because the school building was build on 1988-1989 forgot which year lol. Like around 20 years old, hope they can renovate the building to attract more student :). The next school that we go for is, School of Design, Arts and Media. The building is very nice, but the inside is like ok ok. But the toilet is nice I must say. After hearing the talk, I feel that both NTU or NUS also can, but if got scholarship then it would be best. But after entering the school, must take a English test. If fail then say bye bye to the school... haiz. But first must hope can get into either NUS or NTU...

Have you ever wonder how languages are form? Like example English, Chinese, German, French etc etc. For Chinese is because of surrounding like the word "people" in chinese is take shape from a human. But what about English? How people come out with A, B, C, D,.....?

I have been wondering this for very long time.... Hope can find some answer :)

Among student

I found that many student when creating their blog, on the "Dislike" section, there is always backstabbers and liars. Well if you think again, if you say you dislike those 2 things that I have just mention, wouldn't it be you hating yourself? Because who don't lie, everyone lies, that the fact, no one can avoid it!

As for backstabber, well you may taste it during your study period like in polytechnic. But that's just a small part of it. Because when people go out to work, only the survivor wins, many people will try to use their method to get rid of those who are threatening them for either losing their jobs or demoted.

Well people may say I lie because it for something good or I backstabbing people is because I have family to support. These are the excuse where many people will say when they do it.

Instead of disliking it, why not help them change it or even challenge them if they don't want to change it. Because in the end results matters, no one really care about the process when it comes to working environment. Like in exams or test, what important is the result, no one care or appreciate your hard work when your results shows nothing.

Well that's the real adult world where no one can hide or no one can run from. Because you cannot possibly hate everyone around you where all of them lies and back stab people before.

Well for those who are marching towards the working/adult world, good luck and may the best wins!

NYP Open House!

I have participated in NYP open house 2009 for 3 days! It was fun and exciting! On the first day, I help out as a tour guide, to guide secondary school student around our school! I took some banner at the entrance of the school!



On the second day, I help out at auditorium at Multimedia and Infocomm booth. I am to promote my course to other people so that they will join our course this coming year! This year is the first time I saw NYP open house open till so late, it open till 10pm!

The third day which is the Saturday, I was helping out in the morning shift at auditorium which is from 10.30am to 2pm. Today it is very interesting because around 2.20pm, we watched campus superstar performing at the stage at atrium. I quickly take some photo of them, but it a bit small.
